About Dental Care
What types of dental services do you offer?
At Advanced Dental Group, we offer a comprehensive range of dental services to meet the diverse needs of our patients. These include:
- General Dentistry:
Our general dental services cater to basic dental needs. These include check-ups, scaling and cleaning, tooth-coloured fillings, and preventative care to protect against oral health issues. - Fillings:
Dental fillings address cavities or damaged teeth caused by decay or trauma, restoring the tooth’s structure and function. - Gum Treatment:
We provide treatment for gum disease, addressing infections that affect the tissue supporting the teeth, to preserve oral health. - Crowns and Bridges:
Crowns and bridges are prosthetic devices attached to natural teeth or implants. They restore the function and appearance of damaged or missing teeth. - Dentures:
Dentures are removable prosthetics made of one or more artificial teeth. They offer a comfortable and natural-looking option for patients missing multiple teeth. - Dental Implants:
Dental implants are titanium or zirconia posts surgically embedded in the jawbone that provide a strong foundation for crowns, bridges, or dentures to replace missing teeth. - Teeth Whitening:
Our teeth whitening procedures effectively remove stains and discolouration, brightening the appearance of your smile. - Veneers:
Veneers are thin shells of composite or porcelain material applied to the front surface of a tooth. They enhance the appearance of your teeth, providing a brighter, more uniform smile. - Braces:
In partnership with LOOK Orthodontics, we offer orthodontic treatments to straighten misaligned teeth and improve one’s smile. The scans we provide are bulk-billed services. - Smile Makeovers:
Smile makeovers involve a combination of treatments tailored to enhance the aesthetics of your smile based on your individual needs. - Root Canal Procedure:
Root canal treatment is used to restore a tooth that has been severely damaged. We remove the infected tissues from the canals and effectively seal the opening to prevent other issues. - Wisdom Teeth Extraction:
We perform wisdom teeth extractions to prevent pain, overcrowding, and infections caused by impacted or problematic wisdom teeth. - Mouthguards:
We provide custom-fitted mouthguards to prevent dental injuries during sports or other high-risk physical activities. - Sleep Dentistry:
Sleep dentistry involves performing dental procedures under sedation or general anaesthesia. These techniques reduces patient awareness and discomfort during the procedure to enhance overall comfort. - Full Mouth Reconstruction:
Full mouth reconstruction is a comprehensive treatment designed for patients with severely compromised teeth. The aim is to restore the function and appearance of the entire mouth. - Emergency After Hours:
For urgent dental care after 5:00 pm on weekdays and throughout weekends, call at (03) 5783 4727 or 0477 090 651 for immediate assistance.
Do you provide emergency dental services?
Yes, Advanced Dental Group provides emergency dental services for both new and existing patients. We address issues such as chipping a tooth, acute dental pain, lost fillings, abscesses, broken dentures, or a knocked-out tooth.
If you experience a dental emergency, it’s important to see a dentist as soon as possible. Immediate treatment can alleviate pain, reduce the risk of long-term complications, and improve the chances of restoring damaged teeth.
We offer emergency appointments during our regular opening hours. If you require urgent dental care after 5 PM on weekdays or on Sundays, please contact The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne at 03 9341 1000 for assistance.
Our emergency treatments are designed to focus on immediate relief of pain. This could include emergency extractions, root canal treatments, or other procedures tailored to your situation.
How do you help patients with dental anxiety?
At Advanced Dental Group, we understand that many patients experience anxiety about dental procedures. To help alleviate this, we offer sleep dentistry (also known as sedation dentistry).
This method includes using sedatives or general anaesthesia to relax the patient or induce sleep for the duration of the procedure. It reduces awareness and eliminates discomfort. Minimising pain and anxiety creates a stress-free dental experience for the patient.
Sleep dentistry is ideal for:
- Patients with mild to severe dental anxiety
- Patients with phobia of needles or certain procedures
- Young children or individuals with special needs who may struggle with more complex dental treatments
The primary benefit of sleep dentistry is the relief of anxiety. It encourages more frequent visits to the dentist and allows patients to undergo procedures they might otherwise avoid, such as extractions or root canal treatments.
For patients interested in sleep dentistry, we work with an anaesthetist to determine the appropriate level of sedation. After the procedure, patients can expect to feel drowsy but will typically be discharged the same day.

How do I prepare for my dental appointment?
Preparation for your dental appointment at Advanced Dental Group depends on the procedure you’re scheduled for.
For routine check-ups or non-invasive treatments, there are usually no special preparations required. However, it’s a good idea to arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork and get settled.
For more complex procedures where sedation will be used, you will need to refrain from eating or drinking the night before. We also recommend arranging for someone to pick you up after the appointment.
Be sure to bring along any previous dental records, current medication lists, and your health fund details. If there have been any changes in your health or any new medical conditions, inform your dentist.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit to Advanced Dental Group will vary depending on the procedure you’re having.
For a general check-up, your first visit will likely include an oral examination, and possibly X-rays to help us get a complete picture of your dental health.
Your dentist will ask about your medical and dental history, use this information to evaluate the findings of your oral examination, and develop a personalised treatment plan for maintaining your oral health. You can also expect advice on preventative measures and how often you should return for future check-ups.
If your first visit involves a specific treatment, we will walk you through the procedure. For extractions, an X-ray will be taken to assess the position of your teeth. Our team will also explain the anaesthesia process, pre- and post-operative instructions, and recovery expectations.
At Advanced Dental Group, our goal is to keep you fully informed and comfortable with the procedure, with all of your questions answered.
